Who We Are
Peaks Island Children’s Workshop is a private, non-profit childcare facility based on Peaks Island, Maine. The Workshop is child-focused and encourages family and community involvement in the life of our center.

Our Philosophy
We believe that play is the work of childhood and that children learn by doing. Our program emphasizes children's independence and individuality and works to support each child as they learn about their ability to create, change, and evaluate. Our teachers create supportive and developmentally appropriate environments that allow children to make their own choices, form their own relationships, and guide their own learning.

Our Partnerships
The Workshop collaborates with many island and mainland programs throughout the year to support our children in their learning. We partner with DHHS, CDS, 5-2-1-0 Let's Go, Maine SNAP-ed, and CACFP, to name a few.
Accreditation
The Workshop is fully accredited by the NAFCC and licensed through DHHS as a small childcare facility serving 12 children.
